Cambric Celebrates 20 Years of Engineering by Giving Back to the World Community

The international engineering firm launches an outreach program with non-profit, Bridge of Love, to help abandoned children in Romania

SALT LAKE CITY (Feb 13, 2009) – Engineering services provider Cambric Corporation announced today that, in honor of its twentieth anniversary, it will begin an outreach program to help Romanian children who have been orphaned or abandoned by their birth parents. The company will join forces with the non-profit organization, Bridge of Love, which shares a Utah/Romania connection with Cambric. Together the organizations will gather and deliver new and gently used clothing, eyewear and supplies. Monetary donations will also be collected to go to essential services for the children and to increasing the number of foster placements in Romania.

Merilee Hunt, Cambric’s corporate secretary, is heading up the effort for Cambric and has been asked to serve on the board of directors of Bridge of Love with responsibility for corporate outreach. “In difficult economic times it’s more important than ever to help those in need. When you look at Bridge of Love’s video and other information, it’s very apparent that these children need our support. Between Cambric employees and the giving people in communities where our employees live, we know that we can put some of these orphaned and abandoned children on a better path,” said Hunt. Cambric currently employs people in seven countries and nine U.S. states. Two of Cambric’s engineering centers worldwide are found in Romania.

President and CEO of Cambric, Timothy Hayes says the globally-matrixed company will have a far-reaching impact, “Cambric has been engineering excellence for 20 years. As a company, we strive to 'learn from the past' and 'engineer the future.' Hopefully our efforts will have a positive effect on many lives and create a better future. As a group, we can use our international experience in the business sector to have a deep and positive impact on the public. This year we’re going to focus humanitarian efforts on helping in Romania.” Cambric will collect needed items and ship supplies in several batches throughout the year.

Cary Addison, chairman of Bridge of Love’s board of directors, had this to say, “We are extremely happy to have the support of Cambric in our ongoing efforts to bring hope to abandoned children. There are tens of thousands of abandoned children in Romania. These children are in need of love. In many cases, their basic necessities as well as medical and educational needs are not being adequately met. Together we can make a difference. We encourage anyone who would like to help to visit our website at www.bridgeoflove.net.”
